NACC Update

Paul Stockford, Research Director, NACC and Chief Analyst, Saddletree Research, paul.stockford@nationalcallcenters.org

For the past couple of months, we have been unable to publish this newsletter.  Besides the usual flurry of year-end activity, the NACC community was also a victim of the COVID-19 coronavirus as both of our web and newsletter consultants were stricken with the coronavirus and hospitalized.  One of our consultants was hospitalized right at Christmas and remained in the hospital through early January.

Then, when she was released our other consultant fell victim to the coronavirus and was hospitalized through January.  As I’m sure readers know, the recovery from COVID is also a long and debilitating process, but the good news is both of our consultants survived, recovered and are now back on the job.  That means we can get back to normal with our publications, e-mails, marketing activities, etc.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support of the NACC through these very trying times.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Uh, I Mean Amazon Fire Winner

Paul Stockford, Research Director, NACC and Chief Analyst, Saddletree Research, paul.stockford@nationalcallcenters.org

In the November 2020 issue of this newsletter, we decided to try out our new feedback feature by offering a drawing for a new Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet among everyone who participated in our one-question survey.

The winner of the Fire HD was Carolyn Kidder, Sr. Fan Relations Manager at Dairy Queen International, who received her Fire HD 10 tablet just in time for Christmas.  If you didn’t win, don’t despair!  We’re repeating our feedback experiment this month.  Keep reading.

Another Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet Up for Grabs!

Once again, we’d like to gauge how well our new feedback feature works so we’re going to do the same thing we did last November.  Everyone who responds to this month’s question will be eligible to be entered into a drawing for another Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet.

fire-hd10

If you’re not familiar with the Amazon Fire tablet, take it from me that they’re fun little devices.  Pure entertainment and most of the content I’ve downloaded to mine is free with my Amazon Prime subscription.

The only other caveat for entering the drawing is that you would be willing to let me publish your name and company in this newsletter if you’re the winner. I want to keep this above board so everyone who entered will know who the winner is. Otherwise, as usual, no one will contact you as a result of your participation in this NACC project.

So, here’s what you have to do.  At the bottom of the page, right after the Call Center Comics, you’ll see the “Submit Feedback” button.  That’s what you click on to submit your response to the following question.

As virtual customer conference season approaches, I need your advice regarding the topic(s) you’d find interesting enough to want to attend a conference session on that topic at an upcoming virtual customer conference.  I’ll be speaking at several online conferences again this year and I don’t want to speak on topics you aren’t interested in.  So please click on the “Submit Feedback” button and let me know in a few words what topic(s) you’d find interesting at an online conference.

One entry will be selected through a random drawing and I’ll contact the winner at the beginning of April.  When I told Carolyn Kidder she was the winner in November, she told me she never wins anything.  Well, we changed that, and you could be the next winner.  Please help me out with topics and give yourself a chance to win an Amazon Fire 10 at the same time!

Album of the Month

The album of the month in March comes from NACC member Jeanie Hoth of U.S. Bank Global Fund Services.  Jeanie is a fan of ‘80s and ‘90s mainstream pop and rock and her all-time favorite album is Bon Jovi’s “This Left Feels Right.”   This 2003 album is a compilation of alternative versions of the hits.  The album also features the singing of Olivia D’Abo, who Jeanie reminds us might be better known as Kevin Arnold’s hippie sister in the ABC series “The Wonder Years.”

Picture of the Month

This month’s photo contribution also comes from NACC member Jeanie Hoth. Jeanie took this picture after a 3.7 mile hike to the top of the bluff at Gibralter Rock State Natural Area in Lodi, Wisconsin.  Jeanie made the hike with her oldest daughter and stated that hiking has become her hobby and savior of sanity during the pandemic!

Ready To Throw In The Towel?

(If you’re like me, you’ve really missed the informative and entertaining infographics from talented infographic designer and NACC Advisory Board member Mark Pereira.  The good news is, Mark is back and here’s his first contribution for 2021!  We appreciate Mark’s support and submissions.  Mark can be reached at mperiera@briljent.com.  Ed.)

We Value Your Feedback

Please provide any comments regarding this month’s newsletter format, content, etc. We’d also appreciate your suggestions regarding how we can make this newsletter more useful to you each month.
